چکیده

In most cases, decision tasks are individual and different decision tasks require different combinations of features. Features can be, for instance, special preference visibilities during the decision process or specific heuristics that support the recommendation of decisions. To find the right features for a decision task it is essential to offer a corresponding configuration functionality. In this paper we illustrate how the design of a decision task can be represented as a configuration problem. The underlying configuration knowledge is already integrated in a tool called CHOICLA.

The Impact of Decision-making Tasks and Production Tasks On the Collocational Knowledge of Iranian Intermediate EFL Learners

The current study is an attempt to investigate the impact of decision-making (selecting and matching) tasks and production (creation of sentences and completion of sentences) tasks on the collocational knowledge of Iranian intermediate EFL learners. To this end, sixty EFL learners were divided into two experimental (decision-making and production) groups. To determine the effects of the tasks, ...

Self-Configuring Resource Management in Cooperative and Uncooperative Autonomous Systems

In several circumstances, cooperation among autonomous agents is a prerequisite for effective or efficient task processing. This stems from the inherent or transient asymmetry of the agents’ resources and capabilities. Since agents process tasks autonomously, they have to decide by themselves under which conditions and to which means they cooperate. Such local decision making renders dedicated ...

Constraint-Based Task Selection and Configuration for Autonomous Mobile Robots

An autonomous mobile robot must be capable of rationally selecting tasks to perform. A task is any robotic action or series of actions to achieve some state or goal. Rule-based systems provide an intuitive means of encoding system knowledge into a set of rules that guide the robot. The dynamic nature of the world is seldom consistent enough to support the rigidity of rules. A decision maker is ...

A blackboard system for active decision support in configuring telecommunication services*

As a result of the predicted growth in the telecommunications market over the next few years, it is expected that the process of configuring telecommunications services will become much more complex. As a result, the use of advanced information processing techniques to support the people who carry out configuration will become necessary. We describe the design of a prototype system that provide...

Language Skill-Task Corollary: The Effect of Decision-Making vs. Jigsaw Tasks on Developing EFL Learners’ Listening and Speaking Abilities

Task-based language Teaching (TBLT) has occupied the pertinent literature for some long years. However, the role of specific task type in developing specific skill type seems to be amongst the intact issues in the literature. To shed more light on this issue, the present study was conducted to compare the effect of jigsaw and decision-making tasks on improving listening and speaking abilities o...
